Waxing and Electrolysis

Waxing continues to be one of the most popular methods of hair removal today. Waxing has tremendous and instantaneous results; a once hairy body part such as an arm or leg is suddenly smooth and free of hair in seconds. Wax is excellent for all skin types, even sensitive skin. Our wax contains no allergens or harsh chemicals that will irritate the skin.

Body waxing is not a method of permanent hair removal, but when hair re-growth occurs it will usually be finer and not as dense as before waxing. Many clients come back only every five or six weeks to repeat a waxing. To prevent ingrown hairs you should exfoliate regularly and use moisturizers daily.

During electrolysis a tiny probe, barely the size of a single hair, is gently inserted into the hair follicle down to the papilla and a very low electrical current destroys the papilla and ends hair growth. There may be some discomfort during treatment and even some redness afterward, but electrolysis remains the oldest and most time-honored method of permanent hair removal. Side effects if any are usually mild. Success and frequency of treatment relies on several factors, such as the size of the area being treated, how much hair is involved, phases of hair growth, genetics and hormonal activity. Since hair grows in three different cycles, dormant hair must become activated and then be removed by further sessions of electrolysis.
